The art of wrapping a canvas artwork round a wooden frame has actually been in existence for hundreds of years. The term “gallery wrap” is used when the picture itself extends round the sides of the frame, rather than just having the picture on the front and a border forming the sides. Obviously, if you are considering this type of framing then you have to bear this in mind when actually taking the photograph. Someone’s hair flowing gracefully around the side of the wrap looks wonderful. Someone’s eyeball disappearing round the corner has significantly less appeal.
The examples on this page are the results of photoshoots done by us with the specific aim in mind of producing a gallery wrap. For more information on this, please see our Shoots page. |
